2004 Toyota Tacoma
Toyota's line of compact pickups loses a bed style for 2004. Nothing much had
changed in this year's Toyota's highly-touted Tacoma compact pickup truck. The
2004 model basically revives everything that made it a standout last year except
that it lost its optional flare-fender StepSide cargo box. Same with the 2003
model, 2004 Tacoma is available in two-door regular cabs, extended Xtracab type
models, and crew-type Double Cabs with four conventional side doors and a 3-place
rear bench seat.
Among the highlights for this year includes two forward-facing rear jump seats
for the Xtracabs, a V6 and two 4-cyl engines offered in both manual and automatic
transmissions. Likewise, three engines come available for 2004. The base model
uses a 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engine. It puts out 142 horsepower at 5000
rpm and 160 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The other is a 2.7-liter model with 150
horsepower at 4800 rpm and 177 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm.
Then the leading engine for 2004 is a tough 3.4-liter V6. It gets up to 190 horsepower
at 4800 rpm and 220 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. Variety is one of the main concerns
and selling points of the 2004 Toyota Tacoma hand in hand with ruggedness, reliability
and versatility. Its available options provide wide choice for its customers along
with guaranteed satisfaction.
